Grenen
Grenen is undoubtedly one of the most iconic attractions in Skagen and a must-see for both first-time visitors and returning guests. Here, at the northernmost point of Denmark, you can experience the fascinating natural phenomenon where Kattegat and Skagerrak meet – and literally stand with one foot in each sea.
Den Tilsandede Kirke
The Sand-Covered Church, also known as St. Lawrence’s Church, is one of Skagen’s most atmospheric and historic attractions. The church was built in the 14th century but had to be abandoned at the end of the 18th century when the drifting sand made it impossible to continue using it.
Today, only the church’s white tower remains – surrounded by sand and marram grass.
Vippefyret
The Vippefyr is one of Skagen’s oldest navigational markers and an exciting historical stop for both adults and children. The fire beacon was used in the 17th century, when ships were guided safely past Skagen’s dangerous reefs using an open fire and a tilting construction.
Skagens Museum
Skagens Museum is home to the famous Skagen painters, who captured the area’s unique light and everyday life in the late 19th century. The museum offers both permanent collections and changing exhibitions featuring artists from Denmark and abroad.
Råbjerg Mile
Råbjerg Mile is a migrating sand dune that moves 15–20 metres every year.
It is 2 km long, 1 km wide and up to 40 metres high – an impressive sight in the flat landscape around Skagen.
Skagen Marina
Skagen Marina combines maritime charm with cafés, restaurants and a lively harbour atmosphere. Here, you can experience fishing boats, sailing boats and the bustling harbour, which is the centre of the town’s fishing industry and tourism.
